Day 390: Forget and Rewind

What make us forget? Forget about how it used to be and just live the moment like that’s how it’s always been… I wonder a lot about that lately…
I’ve notice that lately I forgot that I’m on cipralex, I forgot that I used to experience panic attack, depression, flushes and stress…daily stress… on every silly little thing that happens…sometimes even on events that never took place…I guess it was the old “what if…” days…
You probably wonder why I am bringing this up, the reason for that is that in recent days I noticed I just forget that I’m cipralex and I act as if I’ve always been like I am now…
That’s good… but sometimes I also forget to take the pill on time…missed a day or two lately…
But it’s interesting … maybe it’s a sign I soon won’t need those pills…
Meanwhile I’m sticking to my plan and to the doc instructions…
I’m happy and stable…
It’s now been 390 days I’m the pill… and I’m not regretting it at all!
Probably was one of the smartest decisions I took in my life.

Im afraid of taking the drug I was prescribed it, I have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and am dreadfully afraid this drug I will need till my dying death. There are ups and downs in getting into what I call my states, my episodes, creativity ensues but in those moments I feel like the world could end and it would be perfect. I want it to come crashing down around me because I feel like Ive crashed and am just burning now until the fire burns out.. but when will it burn out?
What were your major side effects, did the drug make you more alert? I am also in the process of being assessed by a specialist for Adult ADHD, It is highly likely that I do have it!

I've been on the 10mg since October 12. I suffer from anxiety when I try to go to sleep. I lay there thinking and waiting for the noises and think about tons of other things. I still have to take Ativan and sleeping pills in order to sleep. The people around me make noise and I'm stressed about that. It's been 6 weeks I've been on cipralex and I haven't noticed a difference. I don't want to keep taking sleeping pills and ativan. It's affecting me so much now that I take an ativan if I get stressed out about people not understanding about the sleep issue. This was all triggered by a stress related job issue. I'm happy in many other ways except I can't sleep! (which of course affects everything) I suffer from a health condition and have just started a new job. Because I've just had to take an ativan, I now cannot attend a party I wanted to go to. Does it take longer than 6 weeks? I'm all for trying this if it eventually works, but I'm starting to get a little edgy now.

Sleep was the last thing to get better. I sleep but I dream alot now. Some days I feel like I didn't sleep at all I was so busy dreaming. But I'm taking Cipralex for depression and anxiety. I've been on it for almost 5 months. I started on 10mg and now I'm at 20mg, have been for 4 mths now. My anxiety did seem to get worse the first couple months. Now most of the side effects are gone and my anxiety is better. I still get anxious but I can cantrol it.

I began taking cipralex in September after on series of
really huge negative events occurred over a short period of time and ended up hospitalized with a nervous breakdown. I had not had any diagnosed problems until these events Ciplralex had an immediate good effect for me.

Mellissa P said she has a lot of dreaming activity. This seems to be one of the side effects I notice most. I fear sleeping as nightmares triggered by events I suffered come back reconfigured with especial fierceness and weirdness.
The haunting mood created by the dream seeps into the rest of the day. I become inoperative -I also feel that the sharpness of my memory has been affected.
I am thinking of going off it for while. I take 5 mg per day. Has anyone tried to go off for a time? What was the experience like?

Yes I'm anxious and a functioning depressive person but I need my sleep and these dreams only started when I took Cipralex. I'm on 20mg. Regardless of my dreams I know I need this med to help me deal with my past experiences in therapy as well as everyday life. The sleep issue is worth the benefits during the day. I think if your Dr. prescribed it you must need it. Sleep does improve but it seems to be the last thing to come. It took me a couple months.

As far as side effects (like sex) there were some. My husband and I found a way around them and now almost 6 mths after starting Cipralex they are going away too.

what a great blog. i m just relieved for now that i m not the only one with that burden and that we can share our experiences. I was on cipralex a couple of times and every time i started to feel the effect about 2-3 weeks after i took the first pill. so this time, i m just about on this stage. 2 or 3 weeks ago, i thought there was no way out (no importance for what matter)i just felt completely empty and worn out. it slowly changes. But dont make one fatal mistake: once you feel it gets better, keep on sticking on it, even though its hard and you might think its not necessary anymore. your cerotonin level wont regenerate itself just like that, so be very careful to stop it when you think your personal nightmare is over. What is it to keep going for a few months, maybe even more, to live a life worth living and make yourself and people around you happy and not worried anymore???
