Hey... I just stumbled onto your blog and felt obliged to post a comment. I've been on cipralex for probably 5 or 6 years now. I completely understand your wanting to keep this hush hush; I've learned it the hard way; initially, I've been fairly open about my being medicated and the unfortunate truth is that people do look at you differently. It boggles my mind that people will feel sorry for those with visible handicap but when it comes to the brain the general outlook is still that of being a weirdo. I'm fortunate to have found a partner who is understanding and willing to work through things with, though I know it is taking a toll on him too. Well, I'll stop rambling now... Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the rest of us!

Im going through a rough divorce, and my doctor told me to take Cipralex for 6 months, Was wondering about the sexual side effects i read they can become permanent (impotence, delayed orgams, numbness) isnt that something that should go away once you stop treatment??. My gp said it does but internet is full of threads about this?.

The sexual side effects are not permanent. I've been on Cipralex 10 mg for 6 months and, at first, I noticed a decreased libido and the delayed orgasms were annoying. But it gradually came back and now it's back to normal. I feel great.

I just wanted to thank you for posting you're experiences with depression and cipralex on a blog. My boyfriend has been diagnosed with depression, and is just starting to take Cipralex. I'm unfamiliar with depression and trying to find out more about it. Do you have any advice for how to support loved ones who are suffering from depression?

Can anyone tell me about the side effects. I took half 10mg last night couldn't sleep and had lots of pins in my arms and can't focus. Slightly dizzy too today.

I am on day three of taking 1/2 (10 ml) tablet. I take it in the morning. I feel slightly light headed and more excitable. Does anyone know when these side effects will subside? My doctor mentioned Cipralex does not usually cause weight gain. This is a relief. I'm on this for anxiety.

Alex - I hope everything will workout ok with your divorce, don't worry too much about the side-effects, it wont last long, besides - you need to remember that this pill effect different people different especially in that aspect, but feel free to browse around the blog, I think i've posted alot about this issue.

katharine - the side effect will subside in couple of weeks up to two months, but its get better every day. good luck and i'm happy you had the courage to take this step.
